Privacy policy

Sarah McLauchlan Gardens Pty Ltd (ABN 70 677 892 812) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information I collect through this website and my business, how I use it, and the choices you have.

What I collect

  • When you make an enquiry: your name, email address, mobile number and suburb, details about your garden and project (such as budget, timing and how you plan to build), how you heard about me, and any photos you choose to upload.
  • When you request the snapshot or sign up for occasional updates: your first name and email address.
  • When you book a call or consultation: the details you enter in the booking form, and payment details, which are handled by the payment provider and not seen or stored by me.
  • When we work together: information about your property and project that you share with me, such as plans, surveys and photos.

This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies.

How I use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and talk with you about your project.
  • To send you what you asked for, such as the snapshot or a booking confirmation.
  • To provide my design services, and to keep business records.
  • To send occasional updates, only if you have signed up for them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.

I do not sell or rent your personal information.

Who helps me handle it

I use a small number of trusted service providers to run my business. They handle your information only to provide their service to me:

  • Netlify, to host this website and receive form submissions (including automatic spam filtering).
  • MailerLite, to send confirmation emails and occasional updates.
  • Calendly, to manage call bookings, and Stripe, to process payments.
  • Google Workspace, for my business email, calendar and file storage.

Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe.

When you engage me for a design, sharing relevant project information with the other professionals involved is a standard part of the work. Depending on the project, this may include a surveyor, landscape contractors, engineers, pool builders, a draftsperson, a 3D visualisation artist, and nurseries or plant suppliers for delivery. I share only what each of them needs for their part of the project. My terms of engagement, provided when you engage me, set this out.

Keeping it safe

I take reasonable steps to protect your information, including secure, password-protected accounts with two-step sign-in. I keep information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above and for my business record-keeping obligations.

Your choices

You can ask to see or correct the personal information I hold about you, or ask me to delete it, by emailing sarah@smgardens.au or calling 0435 566 793. If you have a concern about how I have handled your information, please contact me first and I will do my best to resolve it. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
