Every package includes concept design and a complete, contractor-ready set of plans. More than a drawing, it's a technical document that lets several builders quote on exactly the same specification. The packages differ in how much you can see before it's built, and how much support you have along the way.
A garden is one of the biggest investments you'll make in your home. Good design is usually a small part of that cost, and it protects the rest. Every level, material and plant is resolved before anyone starts digging, so your builder isn't guessing and decisions aren't being made on site under pressure.
Builders price the same complete plans, so you can compare quotes properly.
Drainage, levels and access are solved on paper, where changes cost nothing.
Plants and materials are chosen for this coast, so it looks good for years, not just on day one.

Every site is different, so every fee is too. I talk through investment at your on-site consultation and set it out in full in your proposal.
As a guide, design fees start from $8,000 + GST for a Masterplan of a residential garden on a simple site. For a design package, I recommend a construction budget of $75,000 or more.
What needs designing: a back garden, the whole property, a pool and outdoor living.
Size, slope, access and constraints. Sloping and rural sites take more design work.
Pools, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, bespoke built-in seating, decks, pergolas and water features all need more detail and coordination with other trades.
The level of design you choose: Masterplan, Masterplan PLUS or Comprehensive.
Add to any package. Quoted on request, and anything not listed can be quoted separately.
Work by others: site feature survey, all consultants (town planners, engineers, geotechnical, arborists), architectural plans, development application submissions, and construction of the garden.
